Onion Soup |
Ingredients for 4 people
4 large onions
30 g butter
1 liter of chicken broth or vegetable broth
Salt and pepper
2 bay leaves
1 sprig fresh thyme
4 slices of bread
50 g grated cheese
Stages of preparation
Peel the onions and cut them into thin slices. Put the onions into a saucepan, add the butter in small pieces and cook them over a slow fire until soft and caramelized them for 10 to 20 minutes.Add the broth, bay leafs,salt and thyme.
Simmer the stove, cook for 45 minutes.
Grill slices of bread, and place them on the bottom of the bowl.When the soup is cooked, pepper to taste and then pour it into the bowl or on the plate, the slices of grilled bread.
Serve the grated cheese separately.
